Shree Jagannath Mandir at the holy Land of Maa Narmada River Our Tribute to Maa Narmada Maya
Shree Jagannath Mandir , Bharuch : Bharuch is a city in the state of Gujarat which is located on banks of river Narmada and Gulf of Khambhat is a bay on the Arabian Sea coast.
In year 1996, People of Odisha are decided to form an Association to take care of the people and spread the socio-cultural activities in Gujarat. Hence UTKALIKA ORIYA ASSOCIATION OF BHARUCH was born as an association and registered under The Bombay Public Charitable Trust 1950 in October 1996. With the blessings of Almighty, Utkalika got an allotment of a land of 400 sq.mtrs from Govt.of of Gujarat in 2001 for construction of Shree Jagannath Mandir at Bharuch. However the construction work of the Temple could not be started till 2006 because of financial constraints and in Foundation Stone of Lord Jagannath Mandir could be laid.
Shree Jagannath Seva Samiti now Registered in October 2024 as Shree Jagannath Seva Charitable Trust was looking after the construction & complete management of Shree Jagannath Mandir at Bharuch.
Shree Jagannath Mandir at Bharuch is being constructed as a replica of Lord Jagannath temple of Puri but of smaller size with all Parswa Devatas around the temple.The construction work of 1st phase was completed in the month of June-2006.
The Prana Pratistha of Lord Balabhadra, Mata Subhadra, Lord Jagannath, Sudarshan, Mata Laxmi, Saraswati, Garuda, Bamana, Nrusinha, Baraha & Lord Shiv was performed on 6th July 2006 by the priests from Puri Jagannath Temple with all rituals. Thousands of devotees from every corner of Bharuch took active participation for four days during Pran Pratistha celebration.
Daily Puja & rituals of Shree Jagannath as well as important festivals celebration have started in full swing at Shree Jagannath Mandir at Bharuch from 06th July-2006 onwards.The members of the temple committee put their best effort to complete the construction of main temple(first floor) in all respect at the earliest possible which was completed in.
1st Rath Yatra was celebrated by Shree Jagannath Seva Samiti in Bharuch on 16th July 2007 which was participated by devotees from all parts of Bharuch.
Day today puja and rituals and other festivals were performed by Shree Jagannath Seva Samiti with the active participation of it's members. Members had a dream to have Maa Mahalaxmi Temple inside the temple premises. However as all of we know nothing happens without HIS blessings , it is in August 2021(01/08/2021) our dream became true when foundation stone was laid. With the co-operation of one and all, we could complete the construction of Mahalaxmi Temple whose Pran Pratistha was performed on 09/07/2023 in the presence of priests from Odisha.
